Ceejay Group announces chosen local ‘Charity of the Year’
The Ceejay Group is delighted to announce its local chosen ‘Charity of the Year’ Headway, Portsmouth and South East (SE) Hampshire.
Headway Portsmouth and SE Hampshire works with people in the community who have experienced brain injury, their families and carers, providing cognitive re-enablement courses and confidence building courses, one to one assessment as well as signposting and support. The charity also runs social inclusion sessions, supported by volunteers and peer mentors in the local area, enabling people with brain injuries to take their place in community activities and make friends.
“As part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility, we wanted to work with, and raise money for, a local charity. Our employees chose Headway Portsmouth & SE Hampshire and are excited at the prospect of devising lots of fun activities to raise all important funds.”
Nicola Bell, Group Financial Director
“I am delighted to support Headway Portsmouth and SE Hampshire, and look forward to growing our relationship with them. We have a family friend who acquired a brain injury through encephalitis in his youth. I have therefore witnessed first-hand, the difference a locally based charity can make to individuals and their families.”
Chris J Jones, Group Managing Director
“‘Headway Portsmouth and SE Hampshire is delighted to be partnering with The Ceejay Group. We work with local people with Brain Injuries and have to raise all our own funding as our statutory funding has gone down from 85% of our income in 2012 to 9% this year. It is partnerships like this that make us able to keep opening our doors to support Brain Injury Survivors and their families.”
